I wish I had a dollar for every time I've heard this question: I can't get my board involved in fundraising activities for our organization; what can
I do to get them enthused about fundraising?
The answer I usually give can help the organization might cost a bit more than a dollar, but can reap thousands and thousands of dollars in the long
run. First, assess your fundraising activities. Is your organization overly involved in special events? Most board members hate being expected to sell
tickets to their friends and family members, and many have no interest in golfing, running, dancing, whatever your events involve. Focus on one or two
successful events, stressing the board's attendance to show the community that the board supports the organization. Involve the board in planning
these events; they will be far more likely to get enthused about supporting an event they've had a role in planning. Read more
